Cholavandan




Cholavandan (also spelt Sholavandan and Chozhavandan) is a small settlement located on the banks of Vaigai River, about 15 km north-west of Madurai, in Tamil Nadu. Vadippatti lies around 5 km north.

Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, Tiruparangundram and Pazhamuthircholai are important places worth visiting in Madurai District. Kodaikanal and Palani constitute short excursions outside Cholavandan.

Nearest airport is at Madurai. Passenger trains halt at Cholavandan Railway Station, situated on the Madurai – Dindigul rail line of the Southern Railways. Madurai Junction Railway Station is the major railway station nearby.
