Bhaga Valley begins from the south-western foot of the Baralacha Pass in Lahaul region,
Himachal Pradesh.
It is barren, uninhabited and rocky up to
Darcha, the first village in the valley. From here onwards, the valley broadens out and has more settlements. The right bank of the
Bhaga River has vast expanses of cultivated land. As one moves on, one will come across small villages on every 7 or 8 km. From Darcha to Kolong, the valley is called Stod and from Kolong to Keylong it is known as Gnat.
