Bhaga River

Bhaga River, an important tributary of the Chenab River, originates from the Lahaul valley, in Himachal Pradesh. It flows in the south-west direction as a raging torrent before joining the Chandra River. Before it joins with the Chandra River at Tandi, a number of snow fed rivers drains into it.

The upper catchment areas of the Bhaga River are characterized with ‘U’ shaped valleys, glittering waterfalls, charming glaciers and moraines. The river is flooded during the summer months when the snow on the high mountains starts melting.
