Bhaga Glacier, a 25 km long glacier which feeds the
Bhaga River, is located on the slopes of the main
Himalayan range in
Lahaul and Spiti District of
Himachal Pradesh.
Surrounded by high snowcapped peaks, the upper catchments area of the river Bhaga has ‘U’ shaped valleys, waterfalls, glaciers and moraines. The entire tract is devoid of a vegetative cover. The water level of this river Bhaga rises during summers when the snow in the mountains start melting.
