Lying at a height of 12,499 ft above sea level, Barche is a small village in Kargil District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is 166 km from Srinagar, the state capital, and is to the east of Kargil. Barche is well linked with the neighboring towns such as Anati in the west, Sarche Brok in the north, Daskinathang in the east and Buruqqu in the south. Lalung Glacier is within a short distance from here.
