Set at an altitude of 12,575 ft above sea level, Daskinathang is a hilly area in Kargil District. It is about 172 km from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, and 6 km from Barche. Silmp lies to the north whereas Lalung is to the south. Lalung Glacier is just one kilometer away.
Daskinathang can be approached on the Kargil – Sachik road.
