Bala Chaturdesi

Bala Chaturdesi is an annual temple festival celebrated at Kirateshwar Mahadev Mandir at Legship. It is celebrated either in November or December.

Legend has it that for one year after the death, the soul of the dead wanders around awaiting entrance to the underworld. During Bala Chaturdasi, the relatives pay homage to Pashupatinath and offer grains while taking a round of the temple to provide the dead person with substance, comfort and peace.
