Anantasagaram Reservoir is located in
Anantapur District and is one of the biggest reservoirs in the district. It occupies an area of 2,511 acres. The tank is spread over
Anantapur and Bukkarayasamudram.
A part of the tank bund is called 'Musalammakatta,' which has been named after one Musalamma of Bukkarayasamudram who sacrificed herself to close a breach in a bund in the reservoir.
