Taru

Taru is a small village in Tehri Garhwal District of Uttaranchal. It lies near the Bhagirathi River, an important tributary of the Ganges. Some of the nearby cities and villages are Bhutsi, Than, Thatyur, Mundni, Thauldhar and Maindkhal.

Dhanaulti and Kaddukhal are the nearest villages. Surkhanda Devi Temple, a highly revered shrine dedicated to Goddess Durga, is easily accessible from here.
