A town in
Unnao District, Safipur is 27 northwest of
Unnao, on the Unnao-
Hardoi Road. Hasanganj is to the west of Safipur.
Safipur enshrines a mausoleum of Makhdum Shah Safi, a Muslim saint. It is believed that the place is named after this saint. Also found here are the tombs of saints such as Ifhamullah, Kudrat-ullah, Hafiz-ullah and Abdullah.
Fairs are held here during the Muslim months of Rabi-ul-awwal, Jamat-us-sani, Rajab, Ramzan and Zilhaj.
The nearest major railhead is at Unnao, and Amausi Airport is the closest airport.
