Tiruppuvanam

Tiruppuvanam is a small town lying along the banks of Vaigai River, 26 km north-west of Manamadurai, in Sivagangai District. It is located on National Highway 49, near the district’s border with Madurai District. Tiruppuvanam is about 30 km west of the district headquarters of Sivagangai.

Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple at Madurai, Tiruparangundram, Pazhamuthircholai and Nallamangaibagaswamy Hill Temple at Piranmalai constitute interesting short excursions from Tiruppuvanam.

Nearest airport is at Madurai. Tiruppuvanam Railway Station is on the Madurai–Rameshwaram meter gauge line of the Southern Railways.
