Subramanya Temple




Subramanya Temple is a hillock temple situated at Alavaipatti near Rasipuram in Namakkal District. It is 30 km away from Salem. The temple can be reached from the foot of the hill by climbing 1500 steps. The presiding deity of the temple is Lord Muruga. The main festivals are Thaipusam, Skanda Shashti, Panguni Uttiram and Kartikai Somavaaram. This temple holds the festival image of the Ekambaranathar temple which is located at the foothills. One can easily approach the temple from Salem through buses.
