Sankarapuram

Sankarapuram is a taluk headquarters in Viluppuram District of Tamil Nadu. It is on the State Highway between Kallakurichi and Thiruvannamalai.

There is a famous Thandavaneshwarar Temple at Mukanur, which is on the Sankarapuram-Thiruvannamalai Road. Kalrayan Hills, Tirukkoyilur and Sri Gnanananda Niketan (a spiritual center) are easily accessible from this town.

Kottappatti of Dharmapuri District, Pakkam, Kadambur and Murarbadu are connected to Sankarapuram by road.

Tirukoilur Railway Station, Chinna Salem Railway Station and Ulundurpet Railway Station serve the area. Tiruchirapalli Airport and Salem Airport are the nearest airports.
