Madurantakam




Madurantakam is a famous town in Kanchipuram District, situated on National Highway 45. It is about 70 km from Chennai and can be approached by both by rail and road. The place is an important pilgrimage center. The main attraction here is the Vishnu temple. The deity of the temple is known by the name Eari Katha Perumal who is said to have protected the lake of Madurantakam. This region also has a shrine for Goddess Sita.
