Tolung is located 20 km from
Linzey in
North Sikkim District. It lies at an elevation of about 9,850 ft, in the
Tolung Valley. The main attraction here is the
Tolung Monastery which contains rare and valuable scriptures and artifacts. Tolung River flows close by. It is surrounded by forested areas, cardamom fields and steep hillsides. The region offers panoramic views of high mountains and deep valleys.
Devta Pani, Dzongu, Changbu Temple and
Mangan are nearby tourist destinations. Trekking is arranged here. It is an ideal destination for bird watchers and nature lovers.
