Kansua Shiva Temple

Kansua Shiva Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located 6 km from Kota, in Rajasthan. This 8th century temple enshrines a four-faced Shivlinga made of black stone. Another Shivlinga installed on a platform has about 1000 small Shivlingas engraved on it.

As per the rock inscriptions in Kutila script, found on one of its walls, the temple was built by Shivgun, a Brahman King. References about this place have been found in Sakunthalam.

Kansua Shiva Temple has great resemblance to Shitaleshwara Temple at Chandrabhaga in architecture.

The nearest airport is at Jaipur. Kota Junction Railway Station is a major rail junction of Rajasthan.
