Jhunjhunu District




Jhunjhunu District is in the north-eastern part of Rajasthan. It is bounded by Churu District in the north-west, Sikar District in the south-west, and the districts of Hissar and Mahendragarh of Haryana in the north-east. Jhunjhunu has a total area of 5,928 sq km with a population of around 2 million. Most of the part is semi-desert. The annual normal rainfall is 40 cm.

There are beautiful buildings, artistically painted havelis of Muragh Das Modi, and the Khaitans of the region. The major attractions are Dundlod, Chhatri of Thakur Sardul Singh, Gopinathji Temple, Satyanarayan Temple, Sri Ranisatiji Mandir, Hem Raj Kulwal Haveli, Khetri Mahal, Sati Chowk, Fatehpur, and Mandawa.
