Bhai Rupa is a historic village lying about 18 km north of
Rampura Phul,
Bathinda District. Believed to be founded in 1631 by a Sikh named Bhai Rupa, this village is associated with
Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh
guru.
Main attraction of Bhai Rupa is Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Chhevtri, a two storeyed
gurdwara built in memory of Guru Hargobind. The descendants of Bhai Rupa maintain the gurdwara. Another attraction is a private house, belonging to one of the descendants, which houses an old chariot believed to have been brought from Dehradun by the grandson of Bhai Rupa, Bhai Gian Chand. It is believed that this chariot belonged to guru
Arjan, the fifth Sikh Guru.
