Kriya Yoga is an advanced technique of meditation which contains the effective processes of all types of yoga. The literal meaning of the word 'kriya' is ‘action’. This type of yoga involves a wide range of techniques including
mantras. Steady practice of Kriya Yoga facilitates control of the life-force, consequently granting the practitioner total control over the mind and the body. The main objective of this yoga technique is to become one with the Absolute Awareness, namely God. This meditation technique is mainly based on breathing and has four parts -
Pratyahara,
Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi.
