Bhagabatipur lies around 5 km from Dadhibabanpur, in the southern side of Khordha District. It is on the banks of the Chilika Lake, and is roughly 4 km south of Tangi.
Chilika Wildlife Sanctuary, a habitat for migratory birds and butterflies and a reserve for endangered species such as blackbuck and spotted deer, can be visited while in Bhagabatipur. Bhusandpur is another nearby picnic spot.
