Alandi




Alandi is a small village situated on the banks of river Indrayani. It is also known as Devachi Alandi (God's place). The place is famous for the samadhi of the saint poet Dnyaneshwar, who wrote Dnyaneshwari, a Marathi commentary on the Bhagavad Gita. Vitthal-Rakhumai temple, Ram temple, Krishna Temple and Muktai temple are the main temples situated here. It also has the temple of Jalasan Baba, a renowned Gujarathi saint. A fair is held here twice a year, one on ashadhi ekadashi and the other on kartik ekadashi.
