Palghar is an industrial town situated 120 km north of
Mumbai, in
Maharashtra. It is located on the Konkan coast, in north Maharashtra’s mango country. Though noisy, polluted and dusty like any other industrial town, Palghar’s proximity with places of high tourist quotient makes it a suitable base for visiting tourists.
Places of tourist interest include Shirgaon Beach, Satpati Beach, Kelva Fort and Kelva Beach. The
Jungle Resort and Waterpark is another spot worth visiting in the town.
Nearest airport is at Mumbai. Palghar railway station is on the Mumbai-Surat line.
National Highway 8 passes through Manor (21 km), the gateway to Palghar.
