Gangadwar Temple is located at
Gangadwar in
Nasik District of
Maharashtra. Gangadwar, about 38 km from
Nasik, is the place where the
Godavari River makes its first appearance on the Brahmagiri hill.
The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. The specialty of this temple is that near the feet of Goddess Ganga, there is a stone of the shape of cow’s head through which Ganga water is flowing drop by drop. The temple premise also has a Gupha, where Guru Gorakhnath is believed to have undergone penance.
By road, Gangadwar Temple can be reached from Trimbakeshwar and Mumbai. The nearest railhead is Nasik Road Railway Station.
