Gangadwar is a sacred place located in
Nasik District of
Maharashtra. It is the place where the river
Godavari makes its first appearance on the Brahmagiri Hill.
The points of interest, among many others, is an ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. A Gupha, where Guru Gorakhnath is believed to have undergone penance, is situated in the premises of the temple.
Gangadwar is about 38 km from Nasik. The nearest railhead is Nasik Road Railway Station. Regular bus connects the place with Trimbakeshwar and Mumbai.
