North Maharashtra University, established in 1990 under the Maharashtra University Act No XXIX of 1989, is located on the banks of the Girna River. It is 10 km from
Jalgaon. The jurisdiction of the university is spread over three districts including
Jalgaon,
Dhule and
Nandurbar.
The university offers courses in under graduate, post graduate, doctoral and post doctoral levels. Faculties are available for science, engineering and technology, medicine and pharmacy, ayurvedic medicine, fine arts, commerce and management, moral and social sciences, and law.
Summer training and counseling are part of the training. There are five schools and six academic departments in the campus. These schools and departments arrange campus interviews at the end of fourth semester. Hostels, library and gymkhana are available.
