Ashta is a taluk headquarters town located on the banks of Parvati River, in the Sehore District of Madhya Pradesh. It is about 43 km south-west of Sehore and 72 km east of Dewas. Bhopal is around 80 km north-east of Ashta.

Sehore Ganesh Mandir is a major tourist spot nearby.

Bhopal Airport is the closest airport and Sehore Railway Station serves Ashta.
