Kunnath Temple

Kunnath Ambalam



Kunnath Temple is an ancient shrine located at Manjeri, a major commercial town in Malappuram District. It was built in 1652 by Mana Vikrama Manavikraman. The presiding deity here is Goddess Durga. The temple is also known by different names such as Kunnath Ambalam and Shrine of Srimutrakunnu.

This temple is among the two major venues of the Manjeri Pooram festival held in April. The other site is the temple of Trikkalangode. The festival is attended by lot of people from nearby areas.

Manjeri is about 47 km south of Kozhikode. Vaniyambalam Railway Station and Melattur Railway Station are the nearest railway stations.
