Scarlet Minivet (Pericrocotus flammeus) has a strong beak, which is half the size as its head. The bird's wings are long with each feather sticking out from the next, while the feet are small and fragile. The male is black and orange-red to scarlet.
The bird lives in forests and gardens. Diet consists of a variety of insects. Nesting period is between April and July.
Scarlet Minivet can be seen in the Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary, Andhra Pradesh.
