Hebri




Blessed with diversified flora and fauna, Hebri is a small village near Karkala in Udupi District. The village got its name from the word Bheri or Hebbri, an instrument producing huge noise. Enriched by the flow of the Seeta River, Hebri is surrounded by green paddy fields, areca nut, coconut and cashew plantations and thick green forests.

Sri Anantha Padmanabha Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, is the main attraction. The village, renowned as a prominent business center of Udupi, has a number of agro-based industries such as cashew processing, rice mills, oil mills and cattle feed manufacturing.

Hebri is about 46 km from Udupi. Udupi Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
