Nirsa is a small industrial town in
Dhanbad District, situated near the
West Bengal border, in
Jharkhand. It is located on
National Highway 2 and is 30 km east of
Dhanbad.
Hard coke plants based on coalmines are found in large numbers in and around Nirsa. The hydel power plants of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) and Panchet are located nearby.
Nearest airport is at Ranchi. Kumardubi Railway Station serves Nirsa.
