Konar

Konar is located in Hazaribagh District and is near the district's border with Bokaro District. It is 50 km south-east of Hazaribagh.

It lies on the banks of Konar River, a tributary of the Damodar River. The place is inhabited by nomadic Birhor tribe, a small population of hunter-gatherers resembling the Hadzabe of Tanzania.

Konar Dam is located nearby. The steel city of Bokaro is around 24 km south-east.

Ranchi Airport is the closest airport. Nearest railhead is Gumia Railway Station. Bokaro Thermal Railway Station and Bokaro Steel City Railway Station are the other railheads nearby.
