Kalamati lies on the outskirts of
Ranchi on Ranchi-
Chaibasa state highway. It is around 20 km south of Ranchi.
Hatia, Lodhma and
Khunti are the prominent places in the neighbourhood.
Kalamati Deer Park is the major attraction of the place. Other interesting spots nearby are Muta Mugger Breeding Center,
Birsa Deer Park,
Ranchi Hill,
Ranchi Lake,
Hatia Dam and Panch Ghagh Fall. Khunti, which is about 15 km away, with several hill streams, is an ideal place for nature lovers. The temple complex of
Angrabadi is also nearby.
Hatia Railway Station on the Ranchi-Bondamunda rail route serves the town.
Ranchi Airport is another access point.
