Garhwa District




Garhwa District is situated on the south-west corner of Palamu division, and is about 1200 ft above sea level. The district is surrounded by river Son in the north; the state of Chhattisgarh in the south; Palamu District in the east and Sarguja District of Chhattisgarh and Sonbhadra District of Uttar Pradesh in the west. Garhwa District is a rural area and most of the people reside in villages. Important rivers are Koel, Son, Danro, Sarsatiya, Tahale, Annaraj, Pando, Biraha and Sapahi. Kanjia, Sukhadari, Radha Krishna Mandir and Vanshidhar Temple are the important places to visit.
