Koel River

Koel River originates from the Palamu Tiger Reserve and flows in the western portion of Palamu District. The river splits into two – the North Koel River and the South Koel River. The former is tapped near Kutku for irrigation purposes and finally merges with the Son River. The latter flows through Orissa near Rourkela, before merging with Brahmani River.
