Sunderbani, formerly Bhajwal Jagir, is one of the prominent towns of
Rajouri District in
Jammu and Kashmir. Spread over an area of 82401 acres, it is the smallest taluk of the district.
Sunderbani emerged as a new taluk in 1980 and presently it has 42 villages. Major places to visit are Phulwari, Bhajwal, Thandapani, Bakher and Devak. Agriculture is the main occupation - maize, wheat and paddy are the chief crops.
The Channi Parat Temple, a two-storied temple, and the Banpuri Temple are the important tourist interests here. The architecture of these temples confirms that it belongs to Maharaja Partap Singh's time in the state.
Regular buses and shared taxis connect Sunderbani with Rajouri, which is about 157 km from Jammu and about 89 km north of Poonch.
