Khalatse is a small settlement in the lower
Ladakh region of
Leh District,
Jammu and Kashmir. It is at a height of about 11,299 ft above sea level and is 14 km away from
Sogra.
Lamayuru in the west, Narmu in the north, Nurla in the east and Wanla in the south are the neighboring places which are connected with Khalatse. The Suru River flows close to this village.
By road, Khalatse can be approached from Leh on the way to Kargil. An ascent of almost 4,000 ft through the Indus valley from Upshi (about 32 km) also leads to Khalatse.
