Darcha

Darcha, at an altitude of 3,500 m, is a village situated at the junction of Yotche nullah and the Zangskar chhu in Lahaul and Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh. Both these streams meet with the Bhaga River at this place.

Darcha is the point from where the trekkers set off to Padum over the Shinkun la or Baralacha la. It is also the base for mountaineering expeditions to the peaks of Chandra Bhaga series and Leh in Jammu and Kashmir.

Darcha is the last village where trees can be seen, and beyond this, the land is desolate and barren. It can be reached by bus from Manali, which is 145 km south.
