Ziarat Sain Illahi Bakash Sahib is a famous shrine situated at Battalkote in
Poonch District of
Jammu and Kashmir. Battalkote is 37 km north of
Poonch and 4 km from
Loran.
This splendidly set shrine has an impressive location, located in the heart of village on the sloppy land and grassy ridge, overlooking snow capped peaks, thick belt of forests, beautiful maize fields and crystal clear streams.
Sain Illahi Bakhsh Sahi came to Battalkote around 1948 AD and stayed in this place till his death. He spread the message of love, affection and brotherhood to Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs. Baba died on the16th May, 1976. He identified the place for his grave and asked the devotees to keep his body open for three days for public before burial.
This shrine of Sufi saint Sain Illahi Bakhsh Sahib is very popular among all sections of society. Every year in the month of May, the Urs of Sain Sahib is celebrated here. Large number of people from across all religions pays rich tribute to the saint.
