Khab is a charming place situated at the confluence of the
Sutlej and
Spiti rivers, in
Kinnaur District,
Himachal Pradesh. It is located on the
National Highway 22 and is just 13 km from India’s border with Tibet.
The ancient monastery of Tashigang Gompa is nearby. The sight of Leo Pargil peak, the highest peak in the region, which rises to 22400 ft, is of unsurpassable beauty. The cold desert of Spiti, described as 'a world within a world', is just across the bridge.
Kalka Railway Station serves Khab.
