The dialogue between the sage Pulastya and
Narada about
Vamana, an incarnation of
Lord Vishnu, forms the main content of the Vamana Purana. It is fourteenth in the list of
Puranas and contains 10,000 verses. It has similarities in the contents with that of
Varaha Purana.
It is considered holy to give the text as a gift to a Brahmin in the autumn season or at the time of Visuva.
