Vallabhipur is an ancient town situated in the
Bhavnagar District,
Gujarat. It was the erstwhile capital of
Maurya Dynasty. This ancient center for learning was known as Vamilpur in its old days. Vallabhipur is 40 km north-west of
Bhavnagar.
Steeped in history; Vallabhipur holds the reputation of being a center of Jain learning. The famous book ‘Shetrunjay Mahatmya’ was written by Acharya Dhaneshwar Surji here.
Major point of attraction here is the Vallabhipur Teerth, a temple dedicated to Adinath Bhagwan. There is a museum, which houses some archaeological findings.
Dhola Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead (19 km).
