Marwari




Marwari is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. It is among the 23 dialects of Rajasthani language. Marwari tribe use it as their mother tongue.

The main districts where Marwari language is popular are Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Pali and Nagaur. Besides, this language is used by a few people in the states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh.

Though of Dravidian origin, this language has no script. Other names of Marwari are Rajasthani, Merwari, Marwadi, Marvadi and Marvari.
