Dona Paula Beach is also called Lover's Paradise. It is located about 7 km from
Panaji. Since there is a romance and myth attached to the beach the tourists, especially lovers, crowd here. The myth surrounding this beach is that Dona Paula, daughter of a viceroy, who is entombed in the Cabo Chapel of the
Raj Bhavan, emerges from the moonlit waves to haunt this beach.
Water sports facilities are offered by the beach. The tourist can enjoy sunbath at this beach. The festivals that are particular to the Dona Paula Beach are Janmashtami and the Feast of St Lawrence. It also offers a colorful water sports festival in November.
Reis Magos Church, Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary and
Marmagao Harbour are the nearby attractions.
