Hardi lies in the western part of the
Muzaffarpur District in
Bihar, 34 km to the south-east of
Muzaffarpur, perched at an altitude of 154 ft above sea level.
Gantak River, a major tributary of the Ganges, flows close to the town.
Kesariya, a famous Buddhist site, and Vaishali, well-known for many historical and religious sites, are at distances of 38 km and 19 km.
The town is served by Patna Airport and Kanti Railway Station on Muzaffarpur-Motihari rail route.
