The towns neighboring Chhaura are Bagsoti (5 km to the west), Dobhi (4 km to the north-west) and
Sarwan Khas (3 km to the east). Jamuna River flows close to the town.
A much sought after tourist destination outside the town is Gaya. Bodhgaya, an ideal destination for the pilgrims, is nearly 22 km to the north of Chhaura. Pinddaan at Gaya is a unique ritual performed for the salvation of the ancestors.
