Bariarpur, in
Munger District of
Bihar, is a beautiful town located on the banks of the mighty
Ganges. Bariarpur is 34 km west of
Bhagalpur - a place famed for the remains of Buddhist monasteries and the
Bhagalpur Pillar - and 14 km east of
Munger (the district headquarters).
Vikramshila Gangetic Dolphin Sanctuary, Munger Fort, built by Mohammedan kings, and Satyananda Yoga Ashram, developed by Swami Satyananda Saraswati, are worth visiting.
Nearest airport is at Patna, 74 km east. Bariarpur Railway Station, served by the Eastern Railways, is the nearest railway access point.
