Kamakhya

Kamakhya is a town located on the outskirts of Guwahati in Kamrup District in Assam. It is about 9 km from Guwahati. The prime attraction here is the Bhubaneshwari temple. Gauhati University is situated about 5 km from here.

The satellite town, Dispur, is 8 km to the south-east of Guwahati. Kamakhya Railway Station serves this town. The nearest airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport.
