Zinat’ul Masjid

Built in 1710, Zinat’ul Masjid lies along the walls of Old Delhi in Daryaganj. It was built by Zinat-ul-Nissa, daughter of Shah Jahan. Located in a raised platform of basement chambers, the mosque contains a spacious patio. It has three striped marble domes surmounting its prayer hall. The Qibla wall forms the back wall of the sanctuary. The wall has a number of arches called mihrabs. There is also a spacious courtyard to accommodate a large number of devotees. The famous Jama Masjid is nearby.
