Zero Bridge is situated at
Sonawar in
Srinagar District of
Jammu and Kashmir. It is about 5 km from
Srinagar. It is the first overpass of its kind in the city.
It was built across the Jhelum River in 1957 by Bakshi Ghulam Muhammad, the then Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Due to its decrepit condition, the bridge was closed for all types of traffic in 1998 and is now used by pedestrians only.
Amira Kadal and Srinagar Doordarshan Kendra are near to Zero Bridge.
