Deriving its name from the Zemu Chu River, Zemu Valley is in
North Sikkim District. The third highest mountain of the world,
Mount Kanchenjunga rises from the Zemu Valley. The valley leads to a glacier area named
Green Lake, which is the base camp for accessing Kanchenjunga. The Zemu gap links the Zemu Valley to the Talung Valley. The valley falls on the Lachen–Jakthang trekking route and is surrounded by rhododendron forests.
